The tying sessions: the maGgot buNch

Une chose qui me manque un peu en Irlande c’est le manque d’espèces présente dans nos eaux…Quand les eaux deviennent trop chaudes ici il est bon de laisser les brochets tranquille et de rechercher d’autres espèces. Perches et truites sont les autres poissons bien présents ici, mais je rêve souvent de carpes et chevesnes en rivières… Je prépare quelques jours de vacances en France et j’espère dénicher quelques poissons. Donc je monte quelques mouches pour carpes et chubs. Pour commencer une petite grappe d’asticots,facile a monter et parfait pour rechercher différentes espèces.

One thing I miss in Ireland is to have a greater diversity in fish species.With the water temperature on the up in summer it’s usually a good thing to leave pike alone. Perch and trout are usually my fallbacks but I catch myself dreaming about carp and chub … Lucky I am planning a few days in France visiting my family. Hopefully I will be able to meet a few fish along the way.For this reason I am tying a pile of flies for this short trip. First is a simple bunch of maggots. Easy to tie and can catch you all sort of species!
